Iba Na Ang Panahon Science for Safer Communities-DOST Projects By. Abs Damahan General Santos City (Mindanao Expose' News/ May 27, 2014)Project NOAH (Iba Na Ang Panahon)science of safer communities a joint projects of the Department of science and Technology (DOST). Department of Interior and local government(DILG) and Office of Civil defense(OCD) has come-up with the disaster road show off to SOCCSKSARGEN. Project Noah more fucos on information drive against the trend of the prone disaster area of Mindanao site and other regions of Philippine archipelago. According to the press releases of Science and Technology Media Service "Now on the Homestretch," Iba na ang Panahon (INAP): Science of Safer Communities"- a collaboration between the Department of Science and Technology(DOST), Department of Interior and local Government(DILG, and the Office of Civil Defense(OCD, turns the SOCCSKSARGEN region for its second to the last leg of information and education campaigns(ICCs)for disaster mitigation and preparedness. The SOCCSKSARGEN leg held from May 26-27, 2014 at the KCC Convention center in General Santos City, South Cotabato. The city has just re-organized its City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council for a more effective and efficient disaster management program.
the Regional IECs constitute a nationwide roadshow which began March 2014 to arm local government units(LGUs) with disaster information via science-base tools like 3D hazards maps, food, models, Project Noah website, hazard stimulation software, and mobile applications.
Provincial governors, city  and municipal mayors, disaster risk reduction and city planning officers, as well as LGU consultants are expected to attend the two days event which will focus on local hazard risks in the region
According to DOST Sectretary Mario G. Montejo, INAP"embraces the change in our seasonal climate and weather patterns and the severity of the impact of weather- related  natural hazards in the country"
Secretary Montejo added,"Early Warning," said Sec. Montejo." If local leaders are able to act early, then they will be able to minimize loss and lead communities into an early recovery."

I ask him, How they prepare on disaster management of project NOAH? Dr. David had direct replied to me and said, they are in preparation for the project NOAH and they have installed 16 an Automated Working Rain Gauges through-out the country use for forecasting of rain gauges when typhoons strike us.
