General Santos City Proximity for Business Hub
By. Abs Damahan
GENERAL SANTOS CITY (ABSDAMAHAN’SLIVE-STREAM NEWS TV/ June
22, 2014) Global business and Geo-politics are intermittent equilibrium balance
of power that should reviewed by world planner undertaking serious study to
address imbalances in the distribution of world production of goods whether it
is raw materials and finished products.
At the concluded MSME and SMED Council Going Global Conference
small and medium enterprise is merely in the disadvantaged position to compete
with well equip and well prepared big business group and big company in the new
trend of globalization business concept. The small one is always left behind by
the conglomerate big conrporation.
By September 2014, Mindanao Business Conference (BizMinCon)
in short General Santos City will be chosen venue of this conference, the main
agenda will focus on the ASEAN INTEGRATION and many top line agenda to be
discussed during this BizMinCom 2014. By 2015 whether we like it or not ASEAN
Integration will be implemented by its member of the 10 nation’s Asian block.
How do we cope-up by then, if we don’t prepare of new business policy
formulated and adopted by ASEAN Council for this purpose. By just merely listening as volunteer from the
media group during the Micro Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) Going Global
Conference with the Theme: “Turning MSMEs and Farmers into Exporter” at the KCC
Convention Center, GSC from June 20-21, 2014, they don’t even understand what
it is ASEAN Integration? How do we join and participate to ASEAN Business group,
if it is, we don’t know what is going on the new paradigm of business concept
and business strategy of this new business alliance? It does really make me
worry what I heard and observed from invited participants.
The proximity of Makar International
Port and GenSan International Airport to
rest of the World is so favorable for Global business considering of its
location in the Global maps, as you can see the route from GenSan, Bitung,
Menado, Surabaya Indonesia and Singapore and other International ports nearby
Philippine Archipelago. If all this facilities be upgrade Makar International
Port would be and can be Transshipments of Global productions. Three factors
are there in one basket: Airport, Seaport and Container Van Warehouses. But the
negative side of it, “there is no improvement as you can visited all these three
facilities.” GenSan International Airport X-Ray Machine dysfunctional according
to my source it needs upgrading to purchase new X-Ray equipment.
Mr. Rene Pamintuan has quoted in his presentation at the
conference, “50-60 container van Makar International Port can accommodate and
can ship-out to any points of destination globally in one week time, but, we are
shortage of container van during peak season of delivery of good for exports”,
Pamintuan said.
